Life is overwhelming. You’re juggling all of it. While on top of a unicycle, and you know what? You don’t know how to ride a unicycle.
Mom. Dad. Siblings. Boyfriends. Girlfriends. School. Work. Jobs. Money. Food. Health. Love. Sex. Memories. Future. Goals. Today. Tomorrow.
I need to do this. She needs me. He needs me. They need me.
Obligations. Frustrations. Guilt.
I need him. I need her. I need it.
Don’t leave me yet.
I’m scared.
I’m alone.
I’m overwhelmed.
And yet,
Are you?
Everyone has their own shitstorm. It can come at any moment. It may last a lifetime. It may last 20 minutes. Problems are problems, no matter where you are, who you are.
Your mind is what gives powers to these problems. You plant the problem seeds. They are brewing and stewing and growing inside of you. Each time these seeds make you feel anxious, upset, heartbroken, wounded, disheartened, they grow. They grow hard.
Up your spinal column they climb. Infiltrating your mind. Overcoming your thoughts.
The thorns, they dig into your eyes. Everywhere you turn, the thorns are all you see. It hurts.
This weed, it grows. You let it grow. It is abundant. Your blood, body and soul have become its habitat, and it is far from extinction.
It feeds off your failure, your anxiety, your depression.
Yet. Nothing has changed.
They still need you. You still need them. Life is constant. This weed is not stopping the train.
Problems. Did life cause problems? Or did you?
Problems are created when you perceive them as debilitating. When you give problems the fuel to overcome your being.
Put your hands on the wheel. Let the world know who is driving.
Starve the weeds. Starve the thorns. Take back your body. Take back your mind.
You are not broken. You are not unfixable. You are worth it. Your body and your mind, they belong to you.
When memories flood your mind. When the flashbacks scream “you’re not worth it.” Crush it.
Take a machete and clear that path. Let the sun in. Let your true self shine through.
You have one life on this earth. Don’t let the weeds and the thorns dictate how you live. How you feel. How you interact. How you love. How you give. How you work. How you persevere.
It’s only a big deal if you make it a big deal.
